Bambarakanda Falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. With a height of 263m (863ft), it ranks as the 299th highest waterfall in the World. Situated in Kalupahana in the Badulla District, this Water Fall is directly visible from the A4 highway. The waterfall was formed by Kuda Oya, which is a branch of the Walawe River. The Bambarakanda Falls is surrounded by a forest of Pine Trees.

Adam’s Peak is the 5th highest mountain in Sri Lanka and it rises 2243m above the Sea Level and is situated close to the Hatton Maskeliya Area. Adam’s Peak is steeped in history and legend because it is believed that the Buddha visited Adam’s Peak during one of his visits to Sri Lanka. Since then the peak has been revered by Buddhists all over the world. Yearly pilgrimages happen to the peak during the dry season.
It is on the edge of the central massif but its surrounding group of mountains called the Wilderness of the Peak, is so extensive in comparison to the bulk of the other mountain grouse that it appears to form a nucleus of its own, separate from the others. It is about 7500ft high and, though it is the second highest peak in the land, its position in relation to the topography is so dominant that is stands out above all others. The view from the peak at dawn is enough to shock the most cynical agnostic into a state of reverie. It takes about four hours to climb to the top from the town of Dalhousie. Reaching the base of Adam’s Peak is simple and if you’re making a night ascent, you’ve got all day to arrive.

As the 8th highest mountain in Sri Lanka, Hakgala consists of high variety and high forest area. It’s peak is 2170m above the Sea level. Most parts of the mountain is covered with forest which belongs to Hakgala Nature Reserve. Hakgala Botanical Garden is also situated on the North-Eastern slope of the Hakgala Mountain. Legend says that Hakgala Mountain was formed by the chunk of rock brought from Himalayas by Hanuman.
Namunukula is the name of a mountain range in Sri Lanka’s province of Uva. It main peak is 2036m high. Its name means ‘Nine Peaks’. It also the name of a town near it which is sometimes called ‘Namunukula’.
