Itinerary

DAY 1 - NEGOMBO

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival Bandaranayke International Airport, you will meet our guide for a private transfer to your hotel in Negombo.
Once a trading port for Dutch and British, Negombo has developed into a bustling modern town with a handful of reminders of its colonial past. Situated close to the international airport, it makes a convenient rest spot before heading inland to explore or before an onward flight. The wide golden sand beach is dotted with fishing boats and the inland resort road offers a selection of restaurants and bars. (15km / approx. 30 minute).

DAY 2 - NEGOMBO TO CULTURAL TRIANGLE

Rise early for a chance to visit the local fish market to see traders selling the catch of the day. Return to your hotel for breakfast and later set off for the 4-hour drive northeast to the Cultural Tringle, your base for the 3 nights.

DAY 3 - POLONNARUWA

This morning head into the countryside to experience traditional Sri Lankan village life, reservoir as the fisherman would do by taking a catamaran ride on the reservoir, and glide through the still water and abundant lotus plants. At the end of the catamaran ride, take a short ride in bullock cart through the village, then along a scenic rural trail to the mud house for lunch, traditional rice and curry. before drive to former capital city of Polonnaruwa.

DAY 4 - SIGIRIYA & MINNERIYA NP

Start the day at Sigiriya or “lion Rock”, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hike to the top is fairly strenuous but worthwhile to see the rock frescoes, the ruin of the 5th Century palace and the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Later drive to Minneriya National Park for a game drive.

DAY 5 - CULTURAL TRIANGLE TO KANDY

Head first to the Dambulla Cave Temples, a complex of five caves filled with Buddha images and statues, reached by a hike to the top of sloping rock. Continue to the hill country capital of Kandy, with an optional stop at a Matale spice garden en route. Continue to Kandy, British Garrison Cemetery In the evening enjoy a show of Sri Lanka music and dance before a visit to famous temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

DAY 6 - KANDY

Spend the morning exploring Kandy, with a visit to the Museum including the famous blue and star sapphires and mined, cut and polished using traditional methods, bustling market. Bustling market, later enjoy a leisurely stroll around the beautiful Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens.

DAY 7 - KANDY TO NUWARA ELIYA

Climb the scenic, winding roads up to Nuwara Eliya in the heart of the tea producing region, stopping to visit a tea factory to see the manufacturing process in action. Continue passing waterfalls and more then thousands tea lands to the hill station and take a walk around the town center, passing buildings that date from its time as a British hill station, before check in to the hotel.

DAY 8 - HORTON PLAINS NP

Set off early this morning for Horton Plains National Park and enjoy an easy 6-mile hike to hike to the edge of the escarpment at World’s End and on to the lovely Baker’s Falls. Return to Nuwara Eliya for the afternoon at leisure.

take a scenic Train Ride Nanu Oya to Ella, a beautiful small town perched on a mountain ridge. Then continue drive passing Rawana Waterfalls, view, paddy field Evening game drive at Yala National Park, home to a variety of wildlife including the elusive Leopard, Sambar deer, Crocodiles, Buffalo, Macaque and Langur Monkeys, kind of many Birds.

ice early for a game drive to see the birdlife at Bundala National Park. Later enjoy an afternoon game driver in Yala National Park, the country’s best known national park.

once you arrival visit Elephant Transit Home which looks after orphan elephant before check in to the hotel. Afternoon enjoy Game drive at Udwalawa National Park.

driver to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. After lunch set off on a guided trek into the rainforest to discover the variety of flora and fauna of this lush area.

On arrival to Galle take walking tour of the old fort. Wander along the ramparts, pass the lighthouse and old Portuguese harbor and stop to see some of the many colonial era building and vary famous for restaurant.

Transfer to day beach relax to bentota, stop at turtle hatchery where local fisherman help to protect turtles from extinction. Arrive at your beach resort some time to relax.
