Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival Bandaranayke International Airport, you will meet our guide for a private transfer to your hotel in Negombo.
Once a trading port for Dutch and British, Negombo has developed into a bustling modern town with a handful of reminders of its colonial past. Situated close to the international airport, it makes a convenient rest spot before heading inland to explore or before an onward flight. The wide golden sand beach is dotted with fishing boats and the inland resort road offers a selection of restaurants and bars. (15km / approx. 30 minute).

a 6-hour drive takes you to the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country. Stop en route at Kithulgala, location for the 1957 movie “Bridge on the Rive Kwai” and optional – whitewater rafting on the lagers river of Kalani. Continue and stopping Devon Falls, St. Clairs Falls. On arrival to hill station, take walking around the town center, passing the Victorian post office, the old Hill Club and the quaint Holy Trinity Church, which was constructed by the British in the mid-19th Century. Continue to your hotel where the rest of the day is at leisure.

Set off early this morning for Horton Plains National Park and enjoy an easy 6-mile hike to hike to the edge of the escarpment at World’s End and on to the lovely Baker’s Falls. Return to Nuwara Eliya for the afternoon at leisure.

: Head to the hill country capital of Kandy with a stop at a Tea Factory an route. Upon arrival, take a tour of city including the local market, the British Garrison Cemetery and the Ceylon Tea Museum (closed Monday). Later Enjoy a show of Sri Lankan dance and drumming before visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Drive north to cultural triangle, with an optional stop on the way to discover the testes of Sri Lanka at a spice garden. then stopping Dambulla Cave Temples, a complex of five caves filled with Buddha images and statues, reached by a hike to the top of sloping rock before check in to the hotel.

Start the day at Sigiriya or “lion Rock”, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hike to the top is fairly strenuous but worthwhile to see the rock frescoes, the ruin of the 5th Century palace and the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Later drive to Minneriya National Park for a game drive.

Visit former capital of Polonnaruwa, build during the 11th and 12th Centuries and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ruins of its ancient Royal Palace and temple before an afternoon at leisure.
optional - village nature trail experience the reservoir as the fisherman would do by taking a catamaran ride on the reservoir, and glide through the still water and abundant lotus plants. At the end of the catamaran ride, experience another form of ancient village transport and take a ride in a bullock cart to the mud house for lunch, traditional rice and curry.
